Running 18lbs on stock map sensor

It's wierd, I can run 18lbs of boost without any problems on my stock Honda map sensor. I heard after 11lbs it does something??

what management do you have?
are you running check valves or a missing link?

No check valves or anything, running the ZDYNE GOLD SECU w/ the B16FI program

After 11psi, it's not increasing voltage. Which means your ECU doesn't know you're higher than ~10psi.

I don't know the physical limit of the stock MAP sensor before the diaphram rips.

So you mean if I boost past 10lbs on the stock map my Ecu will only provide enough fuel for 10lbs worth of boost even though I am at 18?

No... I mean that the ECU will not know you're running more than 10psi.

Basically, it will use the last pressure column as a "catch all". Whatever fuel and ignition values you have in the last column are the same values that will be used for anything over ~10psi.

Same goes with RPMs.. any values you have in 7400rpms are the same values that will be used when you rev PASSED 7400rpms.

The actual sensor itself can suffer damage when you're running around 13 psi repeatedly. You need to hit it with a check valve.

Also, just curious, what size fuel injectors are you running?

I was able to run about 22 psi (on accident when I ------- forgot to reattach the wastegate actuator vacuum) with the AFC hack, and although I got a little bit of detonation the enigne took it. The detonation only occured when the boost first hit then I think the water injection shut it up. So its pretty risky ass ---- :)

Re:Running 18lbs on stock map sensor

watching my voltage of the map sensor @ around 10.something psi the voltage will peak but my boost will go up 2-3 more psi. I run the turboedit rom in my pm6 and i guess it doesn't have the MAP sensor CEL code in there anymore. or it has been modified to not be totally ------- retarded like the stock honda map CEL's >:(

Re:Running 18lbs on stock map sensor

heh.. Dave Blundell wrote a very nice boost routine so that the ROM used with TurboEDIT will not "Freak out" when it see positive manifold pressure.
