romulator question

if i want to use a romulator for TE so i can do real time instead of burning chips, do you still put a 28 pin socket where the romulator plugs into the ecu? if so what retains the memory? is there a chip in the socket and thats what the romulator plugs into?

Re:romulator question

Ok, I'll explain this so it's pretty simple. You use the romulator to transfer information from Turbo Edit or Uberdata to your ecu. You can change, edit, and run right through the Romulator. Then, when you have everything all set, you burn the saved turboedit map to an eprom (chip) and insert the eprom (chip) into your ecu. Then your all done. Basically the Romulator is a tool used for transfering the information from the laptop, to the ecu without having to burn it to a chip and keep removing/installing a new chip everytime.

Re:romulator question

To add to that, the data is stored within the ROMulator. The ECU reads the data from the ROMulator to function. It pretends its a chip.

Thats why it is called a ROM Emulator...
