retarding timing
this is probably a stupid question but i've never messed with the timing on my car and was wondering how i retard it?
i will be running around 8psi, should i retard it 4 degrees from the distrib? if so how do i know when it's at 4? |
Re:retarding timing
i would get a btm if you can afford it.. retarding timing manually from the dizzy will kill low end/off boost power.

Re:retarding timing
i have a BTM but the instructions that came with it don't say how to hook it up to a honda. i guess i'll try and figure it out so it will run better.
thanks |
Re:retarding timing
Hey, don't flame me for this question but don't you have to turn the dizzy toward the front of the car for retard since the motor turns backwards on Hondas?
And is advancement just the opposite by turning the dizzy (the top of the dizzy) toward the rear of the car? These V8 busters are just screwing me up with all of their crankpulley bs. >:( |
Re:retarding timing
Here is a good article on setting the timing, my stock timing is 16 degrees BTDC and I wanted 4 degrees of retard so I set mine where 12 degrees BTDC would be, I think I did it right?
