quick noob question= stupid

so whats the possible bad things that can happen lets say using beerbongskickass's bin and running slightly less boost? same exact setup but technically what can happen that would ---- me ---- up?

Re: quick noob question= stupid

that map is pretty conservative on the timing so if u run a similar sized turbo you should be good till you get a real tune

ight well i have the exact same turbo and id run like half bar psi. sound ok? or will i still be ok for 8-10? that bin says tuned for 12 so wud u think?

You're fucked.

Didn't BBKA have his dizzy retarded so the map is actually more advanced when you're at base 16, Pete?

Several months ago when I asked BBKA for a copy of the bin, he said I should retard the timing in the lost two boost column by about 2 degrees. He did not say why, and I did not ask him.

so do that and think thatll be reliable for .5bar or so psi?
thanks
Ryan

Re: quick noob question= stupid

Reduce the timing and you should be OK for .5 bar until you can get it tuned. Don't go blasting down the road thinking that because you are running less boost than BBKA everything is fine. Regardless of the fact you have a similar turbo/set-up, you MUST get your car tuned.

or thow a wideband on and just check the a/f's. That is the best solution to your question. Just make sure the a/f stay within high 11's to 12:5:1 and you are good to go until you get it really tuned. The only realy way to tell if it will work ok for you in any amount of boost. Sure as hell would do it if it was my motor. The $300 on a wb could simply save your motor, and will give you a better understanding on all of this "tuning". Good lcuk!

Re: quick noob question= stupid

his a/f ratio has nothing to do with how much timing is in the ignition map, which can be much worse than a slightly lean mixture.

mechanically does the dizzy get moved forward or back? as was bbka's setup?

oh my god, they mean retard the timing from the 7-11 psi colums in his map by 2*, not the ------- distributor itself. give up and shoot yourself in the foot.

Joo need to learn a bit more, or we all run the risk of seeing your "I blew my engine, why?" post in about 3 weeks.
