quick ecu question
ok so i was just wonderin, when i buy an OBD1 ECU, does it have to be from a non-vtec since my car is a dx and is a non-vtec?

Re: quick ecu question
it depends, if your buying a socketed one you could go either way and just disable vtec with the chip. I would only do that if your planing to do a vtec head or something along them lines. If your just going to slap a stocker in, the vtec ecu will always have a CEL on a non vtec motor

Re: quick ecu question
yeah i was thinkin the same thing, i just found out you could disable it right now. thats coo, cuz it leaves the option of an easy swap later. but how would the CEL affect the driving?

or are you not able to chip an OBD0? Do not buy an OBD0 ecu for your setup if you are OBD2 or OBD1 already... |
Re: quick ecu question
^ yea i already realized that. but hey i can always take it back and have $30 to spend at the junkyard.
