Re: questions about uberdata
What he means is you REALLY want eCtune.
I was the main R&D for Blake Warner's Uberdata until v1.2, when Andrew Shinn took a more active role. I love UD, still have a couple of betas of it that were coded for me and never publicly released, it holds a special place in my heart. That being said, you want eCtune as it is a far, far more developed interface. BTW, you forgot a zero. |
Re: questions about uberdata
i wanna do my own tunning at the track if need be, since i like to try different nitrous shots trying to get an all motor LS into the low to mid twelves with built top end, and itr pistons, cams, and shot peened rods on 75 to 100 shot. from what i have read so far you have to buy all the chipping hardware and then buy the eCtune software. gonna cost around $500-$600 just for the tuning part. a guy i know runs the site ycunderground.com and will get him to tune it initially but then do fine adjustments myself at the track. just gotta keep doin the research i guess.

Re: questions about uberdata
Blake also wrote a specific version of Uberdata for me to test and get my input on. Strangely is was written in crayon. ???

Re: questions about uberdata
if your friend runs that site then he should be able to tell you what to run. it looks like he likes ectune aswell

Re: questions about uberdata
i have never seen JD say something that was false in a situation like that. im not saying i would do it though

Re: questions about uberdata
If LS rods can take 300whp from a turbo, they can take if from a measly 100 shot.
JD, I got a guy who has an 11:1 F22B that wants to do a dual stage setup, direct port and 200 shot, maybe more if possible. ---- runs like a bat ouf of hell already without the nitrous. |
Re: questions about uberdata
200 shot doesn't last forever, no, and neither does boosting 300-350 whp on a stock bottom end. If you clearance the bottom end (looser piston to wall and ring end gap primarily, looser bearing clearances and shimmed oil pump of lesser concern) then it will take it a little longer. If you put a big fat breather/catchcan setup on the motor so all the blowby that's going to happen to any Honduh motor no matter how "healthy" at that power level, it will last even longer. Show me one car that makes great power that isn't a maintenance ----- or somewhat unreliable.
Wes' 403 cam/B16 piston setup smokes pretty bad right now, but that is primarily attributed to using cheap NPR rings on a dingleberry (incorrectly) honed block. Not bad for running around on a 75 shot for four months, a 125 shot for a week, a 135 shot for another week, and then the 200 for two months now. Car's main duty is daily driver, but it does get beat on, and FYI it was smoking before the 200 shot but my friend is a hardcore ----------er and doesn't care. If your friend isn't hugely experienced with nitrous he can contact myself or any of the other authorized eCtune tuners. Last I checked I was doing all the medium sized shots (100-125) on top of 4-500 whp turbo setups, 94sewell has done some staged 400 shot setups on built engines, and blundar is always always alway a font of good information about anything you can get him to pick up the phone for. |
Re: questions about uberdata
hey davis so your tellin me that the stock ls rods and stock b16 pistons are holding up to 200 shot. have you dyno'd it? any vids of this beast. i was concerned about the 11:1 cr and using 100 shot. friend was tryin to talk me out of it, because of the cr. besides, i really don't wanna have to rebuild this thing again next winter if I don't have to. currently workin on this dude trying to get to separate his piston and rod combo, tryin to sell Eagle rods and je 8.5:1 pistons for $200. i don't want the pistons, too low of compression. so i'll know tonight if he will split the combo.
