so when tuning you make changes to the .bin on the laptop and it will apply it to the ecu and when it is good you save the .bin and then burn the chip and put it in the ecu?
and my wish list gets longer
so i would need the ostrich, chip burner, and WB02 and would be set to start trying to tune?
maybe i'll pay attention when my car gets tuned

Oooh, evil
And real time emmulation does work, but the stupid version is messed up. Can't wait until it works, it was cool driving around making changes right away. But only half the speed that is is capable of.

Re: Question about Uberdata Ostrich
Uh.. well, right out of Craig's mouth, who designed, programmed, hand makes, and distributes the hardware, it's fine.
Maybe you should get with Blake and tell him he might have a problem with his code if he's getting check engine lights whiel changing other things.
Having personally written (not using someone else's code as you are) two different applications for Ostrich, and tested them both on my EK, I feel I have sufficient knowledge of the Ostrich's capabilities when the interface application is designed to use them.

Re: Question about Uberdata Ostrich
I completley understand that, I am just stating this because uberdata is in the title, and it pertains directly to uberdata. He is working on it, or so we hope. Either way, uploading is just fine with me. I love ostrich. Now just to get the bastard to work with crome.

Re: Question about Uberdata Ostrich
Hrm, it works with Crome. :hrug::
A friend of mine is using it... however, he just told me that Crome doens't make "real time" updates. You make changes to the tables and have to hit an "Update Tables" button... I dunno, I haven't used it myself.

Re: Question about Uberdata Ostrich
I tried to use it a few times. Could be that uber uses the old firmware and crome uses the new firmware. But I don't mess with crome too much, just wanted to to tune an ITB car. But I did it the old school method ont he dyno.

Re: Question about Uberdata Ostrich
to make it simple.. have someone with you in the car make changes... OR.... do what i do... datalog and make changes when you're done making the run or able to stop and make the changes on the spot.
i datalog my runs at the drag strip. go back to the pits and make changes with my ostrich
another cool thing about ostrich.. u can unplug all ur cables cept the one going from ostrich to the ecu and run your car without all the laptop and other stuff..

Ive put about a solid 15hrs of tuning several cars this week on CROME/Osterich, and Im very happy with how glitch free its been. Once you get you port settings sorted out, it smooth sailing. Sure theres the occasional CROME lock up, but you learn what not to do while logging/emulating.
