question about this dyno sheet dip on an LS

Why does he have a large dip in the graph at 4000-5000 rpm ? I want to copy his setup, but I really dislike that torque dip...

If I'm street wideband tuning will I be able to see that dip? I figured I'll graph Time vs RPM which should show me dips, but I dont know that will actually work.

It looks like it's in the engine itself. If you look at the dyno on the 2nd page, he gets rid of that torque dip with the crower cams.

I'm not sure if his tune is good or not, but I'm sure it could be cleaned up by messing with the timing and getting it all squared out on the dyno.

In all honesty, that doesn't look like a good tune. The torque curve shouldn't be so wavey like that.

Could he be dumping to much fuel and it goes too rich between that area? I wish a posted is A/F graph with in his post.

This is a different dyno graph you tard. It separates the two curves. Tons of dyno's do this.

Sinner, I don't think that dip is such a huge deal. It only seems so big because most of the dyno graphs are inremented by 5hp on the y-axis. If you take a look at the new engine vs old engine graph, the increments are 10hp and the dips don't seem as extreme.

But I still say that it can be smoothed out with some tuning.

you dont know what you are talking about. hp is a mathematical equation derived from the tq curve

hp = tq X rpm / 5252

gee, lets take the max tq of 141.8 X 4262 = 604351.6

now 605351.6 / 5252 = 115.0707#####

now look at 4262rpm on the HP side of that graph, sure the ---- looks like 115hp to me :S

if the graphs were laid on top of each other like a typical dyno graph, it would cross like its supposed to
