Putting together a very low boost system, will a FMU work? ~3psi
 

I'm putting together a crap ass system to boost about 3psi (maybe 5psi later on), car uses a MAF (or hfm), will a 12:1 vortech FMU work for a system of this low boost? I hear from some people that a FMU wont start functioning until like 5psi or so...Is that because stock fuel pressure is at 44psi and at 3psi (36psi) it wont be pressing the fuel lines hard enough to be over the stock 44, meaning not increasing the fuel pressure over stock?

It should work fine. Even at 1 psi. But why would you want to run such low boost? Your car won't be much faster at all.

So even at 1psi at boost the fmu will be adding extra fuel into my engine? I Keep hearing that FMU will not work for 4 and under psi s ystems.

I want to make sure it will, I don't want my car to lean out.

DONT WASTE OUR TIME WITH 4PSI just wait and get some better fuel management at least an afc

Should work fine, and yes it will work at 1psi.

Use the fmu, it will work fine. And A "crap ass" sytem will run 5 just as wll as 3 .. just go for it.

btw u dont need managment for 1 psi, not even 2, u might get lucky with 3 also
guaranteed ur going turbo for the sound :-*
