problems with sst chips

I cannot get these to burn, ive tried 3 versions of the willem software and nothing. Im setting the DIP just like it says, im putting in the extra jumper to erase and taking it out to burn and it keeps saying Error @ 0x000000 Chip= 0xFF buffer= 0xE2

Make sure your offsets are correct.

I don't use the Willem, but I mad pimp the SSTs.. Make sure your buffer offset is 0x0000 - 0x7FFF, and your device offset is 0x8000 to 0xFFFF... and yes, you have to erase it before you can write it. Willem sucks, get a BURN1. ;)

you don't have to change the buffer offset with the willem. all you have to do is select the sst27sf512 as your 'device', then put '8000' in the offset box and you should be good to go. perhaps you messed the chip up by trying to erase it improperly?

xeno, ive been looking @ that and following it since last nite... and nothing. the only way it completes the burning process is if i read whats off it then burn it back on, then it will say its program right. But that doesnt help me put my maps on there

What program are you using to make your BIN files?

Are you 100% sure that the file size of your BINs is 32768k ???

Sometimes with off versions of Uberdata it saves files as 256k files and with Crome if you add comments to the BIN it will add a few bytes on making it larger than the 32768 k bytes of a typical BIN and will ---- up your burn.
