problems with safcII initaillzation

heres my problem i finally get my safc hooked up and it powers up i did my settings and did intialize it ,then turn the ign. off then back on checked it cool its good ,so on to install my 450 injectors with ignition off i unhooked my battery so the car has no power just to be safe and installed the 450's now hooked the battery back up turn the key check my settings and they are gone so i redo the settings do the initalize set up again but when i go to initalize no/yes i go to yes and push center on the toggle it goes back to etc.menu where you select intialize also the safcII comes with battery less memory so your settings are always saved even if you disconect the battery, so has anyone had this problem before or have any idea why this is happening ,thanks guys for any help

LOL, i had that sam eproblem but i redid my settings like 4 times. then i read the instructions and it said that "initialize" means to clear the settings ;). it sounds alot like something you would use to confirm your settings but you know how backasswards them foreiners are ;D

Lol, I did the same thing when I first hooked up my vafc. I thought the battery in it was dead or something.

still need help with safc install and 450's

well the safc is good thanks for the help i called apex they said the same thing about initalizing my settings start at -40 and lower to like -35 i have the 450 injectors installed i go to start it it just cranks and kinda runs but not for long if i step on the gas pedal ,so i adjust my settings leaner and richer samething ,im runnig this setup in my 90 crx si thats obd0 so i dont need to add resistors since the car has them in line so thats not the problem, after i tried to start the car i pulled the plugs a notice lite smoke coming from the plug holes the plugs were a dry black color which means rich mix or weak spark the dist. is new so i thought maybe the afc wasnt working the map signal right so i disconected the afc harness cranked it and i got the map cel so its not the wiring i switched back to my stock injectors and it fired right up ran a little ruff from the safc ,i also tried another set of 450's is there anything im not doing when installing them they just clip in the harness and you have to shave out the gaskets where they sit in on the mani. right? i have ran of ideas why this car wont run the injectors are my last thing to install and its boosted ,thanks everyone for their help

i know on my vafc my car idled like ---- until i adjusted the 1000rpm to like -27 to -34. i know it sounds rich as ---- but it idled like stock after that. so you aren't boosted but your running bigger injectors and safc until you get the turbo on? maybe that your prob, set it to about -47 all across and adjust the 1000 until it idles good.
