just for your guys information, a croud over here called gizzmo ( www.gizzmoelectronics.com ) have made boost codes for pr3's.
might be of some info. for someone.

Thats nice, but what happens when you upgrade again? Do you send the chip back to them? What happens if their chip is too lean or too rich for you, $370 wasted?

It seems like a good idea, but the fact that you can't adjust it yourself kind of kills the idea.

Every setup is different, nothing can be virtually dyno'd...

Unless you drive to their shop and have them dyno tune your car and adjust the computer based on what information they get off the dyno sheet, you're not going to have a real close tune, atleast not as close as you could get by adjusting it yourself.

Even if they dyno'd a car and adjusted a chip in house, a car exactly like yours in every way, the chip still wouldn't be spot on because there are very slight differences in each engine that comes out of the factory.

If it were possible and a good idea to just plop a chip like this in, why wouldn't xenocron or somebody sell chipped ECU's with a basemap claiming that all you need is that basemap in order to run your car reliably?

If I remember right, they almost have boost code for the pr3 hammared out from PGMFI. I think they just need some testers. I think they are also working on the o2 code.

missing the point.. each car is individually dynod and they make a fuel map depending on that. just saying that they work with the PR3 and add boost to that

A wideband is the only way to tune afrs without making "guesses" based on caculated models. Some old school guys retune their carb jets using the dyno and that technique is flawed for the fallowing reasongs. First, leaner cars make a few more hp for the time which the engine dosent blow up. So, If you were to tune off a dyno your car would be way to lean for turboed applications. Second, I would not want to do any hard dyno pulls in a basemap that is only cacluated using the predicted and not the actual modle of your engine. However, dynos are very useful for tuning timing with the accompanyment of an egt gauge.
