PLEASE help my poor d15 ass
alright, I have a 91 CRX with a d15, with an intake and k&n filter, and a straight pipe going from head to halfway back (no cat or muffler, pipe half length, she's loud) This thing has less restriction than I can Imagine, but its running a little lean now. Ever since I did that, if I run it, turn it off for a minute, and then try to turn it back on it wont start for a minute or two(which sucks for a pizza guy). It'll just sit there and crank like crazy. The starter and battery were both tested and they are fine. I dont want to spend the $ on an AFC, but my buddy told me that if I disconect the oil temp sensor, it'll run a little richer. Is that trueand if so, where's that sensor. If not, what can I do?

Re:PLEASE help my poor d15 ass
oil temp has no affect on a/f ratio's. ignition timing and fuel pressure also affect it.

Re:PLEASE help my poor d15 ass
hey I don't know what you guys are smokin, I found it on the left side of my block. It richened it up just enough to fix the starting problem, thanks for the effort though

Re:PLEASE help my poor d15 ass
sounds like a coolant sensor, that would make it richer ,thinking the cars cold and give a bit of extra fuel .
not oil sensor on the side of any honda motor that i no. p.s how much oil do u put in that big square thing that looks like a thin intecooler??? If where smashed than whats your excuse? |
Re:PLEASE help my poor d15 ass
Okay now what did you do? my car has the same problem, and its irritating.

Re:PLEASE help my poor d15 ass
i've had two different things cause that. one was the main relay needed some connections resoldered, the other was the cap and rotor was screwed up. the button that touches the coil was burned off.

Re:PLEASE help my poor d15 ass
I had the same problem and I just resoldered some joints on the main relay.
Check this website out, explains the problem, exactly what's happening to you, and how to fix it with pictures. http://www.markl.f9.co.uk/howto/elec...main-relay.htm |

Re:PLEASE help my poor d15 ass
Hey, its all about HP. If it sounds like crap but gave him 20 extra ponies, I say more power to him.
|
Re:PLEASE help my poor d15 ass
20 extra yeah right, 2 extra and -5 ft-lbs of tourqe
|
Re:PLEASE help my poor d15 ass
If its only 2HP extra how come all of the racers in IDRC use the same type of exhaust...well front wheel drive that is.
I think if no exhaust were a problem, then all of the serious 11 and 10 second cars would have full Greddy exhaust with cat. |
