what does 1000 pounds convert to in US dollars? hope it's not more then $150 because you can get really good managment for that:
chip your stock ECU-- 100
DSM 450 injectors ---45
10ohm 10 watt resistors --3

so that right there is all you would need to set up your car for proper fuel managment. it would be wise to buy a chip burner and wideband once you learn more about ecu chipping and tuning so you won't have to look for a tuner over there.

www.------------- pick up a chipping kit, rom burner, and some datalogging stuff. then head over to pgmfi.org and download uberdata or crome. both uberdata and crome do the same thing, but i like crome better. only thing is you cant datalog with crome unless you get the pro version which costs 149 USD (thats maybe 80-85 pounds?) but ubeerdata will datalog for free. all this will allow you to accurately burn a rom suited for your engine. so you most certainly can "re-map" your ecu. ive done it as well as countless others. dont go the fmu route.

i would advise you to do the same thing i did when i started to get into ecu modification and everything. RESEARCH! read pgmfi.org, they have lots of articles and stuff. try to understand what that parts you are buying do and how to install them, or if you dont feel confident doing electronics work, find someone who is. and if you dont understand something, post it up and try to find the answer.

well thats the best i can give, im sure some other people on here can give a better explaination then me

cheers peep, thing is, tuners over here are scared of boosting non boosted engines, ive been told i cant chip/map my ecu, i know nothing about engine managment, give me an engine or a car and ill strip it down and re build it, but managment, i have no -idea,

wot ecu does my car have??? its a ej2, think its the dx over there??

Re: please dont flame me

set up your car with an uberdata basemap, take it to a tuner with the software, and tell them its a thousand dollar american program, and they wouldn't know the difference

Re: please dont flame me

those ppl that say u cant re-map your ecu are stupid. since u already have a p06, i suggest u buy a chipping kit, rom burner, and a wideband 02, and a laptop, and ur set to go, well, only if u read what u need to read. its not that hard, just a little time consuming. all this should be around $500USD, i dunno how many pounds that it.
