p13's usable?

I have a buddy with a h22 swap in his ek and was given a p13 for it. It's a jdm ecu and a auto unit aswell. Is he better off just picking up a p28 and running a h22 bin or is the p13 workable?

Re: p13's usable?

Aight I should of searched this one. It's an obd1 ecu but how much different is it from chipping or converting it to a manual compared to USDM ecu? I asked Cray and he doesn't do JDM ecu's so Xenocron or Projekteg I need some help.

hrm, i know for the usdm auto p13's, you can convert them to manual very easilyl, by just removing rp11, not 100% sure if jdm is different, but i've never heard otherwise. as far as chipping, crome is working on some p13 support right now, other than that, no, there's not much going on with them. your friend could run a p28, but unless he added iab circuitry to the ecu, his butterflies would have to stay open. or he could run a p72 or p75->p72 to control the iab's just like the p13 would. there are plenty of p72 based base maps for h22's out there to use one of these ecu's.
