Default Is an Ostrich what I want?

Ok so i have been getting by with my desk top and willem burner so far ...

Really wanting to get a laptop so I can start datalogging and fine tuning my car. The willem is gonna be kind of a PIA to use in the car between runs etc. So I think an Ostrich is what I am wanting ...

Is the Ostrich gonna allow me to:
hook up the datalogging (printer style) cable from the ECU to laptop
hook up the Ostrich (USB port?) from the laptop to the socket in the ECU
And then just datalog and tune endlessly without having to unhook anything, or change anything while I am tuning

correctamundo

the ostrich is basically pretending to be a chip. conveniently enough you can plug that chip right into a USB port and edit it on the fly.
