Re: Ostrich
Replace the cable. Take acetone to the traces and clean the burnt ---- off. After you do that clean the acetone off with alcohol to remove residue. Then inspect the traces. If you see traces that are bridged, burnt and shorted out, take a pin and break the bridge. Now, if your traces are fucked up beyond repair go get a rear window defrost repair pen. The ---- is like liquid silver in a nail polish base. Use that to carefully fix the traces. The rear window defroster repair pen is an old trick from computer overclocking. It was used to bridge traces on old AMD socket A processors, so I know it works. If it doesn't work after that then one or more components was fried, in which case you'll need to take the board to an electrical engineering guy or electronics repair guy to have the components inspected. At least that's what I would do.

Re: Ostrich
If you feel competent in fixing it yourself, do it. Otherwise, just email Craig and show him the pictures. He'll tell you how much or what you can do. |
