open loop tuning?

when i am tuning my ecu i want it to stay in open loop (02 sensor not active) correct? so that the 02 sensor doesnt try to change ---- while im tuning...how do i make it stay in open loop? will just pulling out the stock 02 sensor and having the wideband 02 in there make it stay in open loop? or is there something else i need to do?

Re:open loop tuning?

If you use uberdata you need to disable the heater and disable closed loop. ALso splice the wideband out put from the wideband controller to D14 on the ecu pin. And go tune her.

using turbo edit.....so is it different than uber? and disable the heater? like the car heater ??? sorry for being a retard...how do you disconnect the heater?

Re:open loop tuning?

ACtually I think OBD0 has a 1-wire o2 sensor, so the heater shouldn't be there. Um.. I haven't tuned many cars on turboedit, and all that I have done have been basemaps. I know someone can chime in on this one.

Rory is the man!

Rory, since I havent been able to play with your BIN personally yet on my car...do you tune your car on your O2 disabled BIN and then when done put those maps back in a normal NG48 BIN? Or does that ---- ---- up?

Re:open loop tuning?

is there a different way to do open loop tuning other than using the 02 disabled bin? there must be because if xenocron has not dont it that way then how did he do it? and as xenocron said can you tune in the 02 disabled bin and then copy/paste into a normal ng48 bin?

Re:open loop tuning?

When my car was running still, this BIN wasnt out yet. I always tuned in closed loop.

There is no true way besides this to do Open Loop tuning for OBD0 right now.

Most everything had to be done at full throttle to do tuning in OBD0.

Tools like this BIN and ECUControl werent around or working working well when I was first learning this stuff.

Now there are better tools and my car no workie :(

Re:open loop tuning?
