open loop question
i got uberdata installed a while back, FINALLY got it working right (my soldering job sukked :P), anyway i'm looking to play around with it, maybe do some fts & launch scripts or what not, and mess around with some of the settings...
my question has to do with the disable closed loop box. i know i want this disabled when i slap the snail on there, since i'll be looking for around 17:1 a/f at idle, 16:1 partial etc on down... whereas closed loop is gonna be constantly messing with my tables to try to get it down to 14.7:1. so i definitely want it on with the turbo, but what about n/a? i drove it around w/o CL one day when the engine was warmed up and not freezing outside, seemed to run really well, felt like a lil more power but the butt dyno has been known to have been miscalibrated before ::) are there any problems with leaving it in open loop all the time? will it hurt my engine on cold mornings or driving around partial throttle all day? i really dont care if it sucks more gas that way, i'm getting 30-something as is so i can't complain. |
Re: open loop question
i run open loop full time. it's best if your vac maps are tuned or you'll might possibly be too rich...lean on an n/a car isn't too big a deal unless it's in the lower vac colums approaching 0 vac.
if you need someone to wideband/street/dyno tune, let me know. i'm in your area. |
Re: open loop question
^^^like he said.
After seeing what kind of partial throttle/low boost A/F ratios I was getting in closed loop I would never run anything but open loop. __________________ Best Car Insurance | Auto Protection Today | FREE Trade-In Quote |
Re: open loop question
can uber run closed loop in vaccum and open loop in boost like turbo edit? seems like the most logical choice...

Re: open loop question
yes!!!!!! you just have to use rory's boost02 disable bin file, its ng48 code with the 02 trim disabled in boost and active in vaccum.....get a hold of rory he can get you the bin....

Re: open loop question
TurboEdit itself doesn't have the option (yet) but with ng53, you can control closed/open loop by changing an option byte with a hex editor.

+1 for TurboEdit :P
