OBD0 TurboEdit running rich
 

I had my b18b Ls motor tuned (3-7.5k rpm) and within a month the O2 sensor failed my car is running extremely rich when I back off the throttle or drive below 3k rpm is there a "quick fix" way of fixing this problem or will I have to get it tuned again? and will a new map sensor(maybe a 2bar) better help accurately tune the car? I know honda maps can handle 9-10lbs of boost

I know Turboedit is a good program but I am losing hope in having an obd0 turboed car and thinking of switching to obd1 hondata$$$ but don't have the money, I just need my car reliable and somewhat easy to maintain

I am only boosting 7lbs

I have heard good reviews of Dave LEED does anyone know how many OBD0 TurboEdit cars he has tuned.

Can Turboedit be reliable???

Turbo-edit was a good program for it's time, a step above Ghettodyne, but in today's era of DIY management it's an outdated program. With TE you have very few options you can change, and obd0 map resolution isn't the greatest. Basicly any time there's a drastic change in weather/temperature you need to re-tune TE. IMHO you'll be much better off upgrading to obd1 to run Crome, as there's alot more features. I won't go into the entire list of what it can do as it would probably take at least a page in itself. Search the Crome stickies on pgmfi.org's forum and you'll see what it's capable of.

FYI, Dave Leed's been around since the beginning...I think he can tune pretty much anything out there in his sleep. ;)

if it's an OBD0 car, check out BRE, it will work with NG60 code (same as turboedit)

So are the other options such as BRE and Ghettodyne comparable to a hondata system.

With TE my car ran great for a month a little rich on the low end but it did make 200whp on stock internals(detuned for reliablity)

I just don't want to spend another $1000 in hondata and obd1 conversion but my friends car runs great with his hondata system

i agree with him.crome is a much better program.and alot of ---- in t/e doesnt work like setting o2 on and off the option for setting idle u cant have a cel for a shift light,if u must stay obd0 i would suggest going BRE

if its running too rich at low rpm then subtract some fuel from that portion of the map, turbo edit does weird ----, like someone else posted you have to retune it for the season of the year, i have been running it for quite a while now ans have experienced the same thing ( and alot of other strange things, like throwing a code for 02 randomly even though its disabled and i'm running a plx permanently, and it doesn't effect anything) so just get a laptop and data log your ---- then adjust where needed, remember you get what you pay for.......but nothing is really free.

Yes the rom's are compatible (I currently run BRE in my obd0 pr3 ecu). However, BRE is more or less a band-aid for TE's issues. In the 2 years I've been using BRE I can say it's a good program, but not without it's quirks too. Alot of the newer features on the newest BRE release don't work properly, and changing IAT and ECT corrections are a stab in the dark. The injector rescaling feature (in percentage numbers) kinda works, but still could use some tweaking. But the same problem applies...every season change you need to retune.

By far Crome is the best free option out there, and the options available within the program will blow your mind. It's well worth the money to upgrade to obd1 to utilize this program.

yeah hahaha I know the O2 sensor code very well I think I might just take the check engine light bulb out of the gauge cluster--lol

yeah with TE sometimes it runs like a ferrari and other times it feels more like a pinto

I have concluded to upgrade to obd1 and get hondata my friend hasn't had any problems with that system unless you guys know of any flaws in the hondata I would gladly accept any input

If it ran great for a month and then stopped...its not the tune, something mechanical is wrong or you changed something that affected the tune.

The tune cant change...
