Re:O2 sensor and MAP sensor voltage questions
Joseph I love you and I will name my first born daughter after you :) thanks bud. Hopefully this weekend I can put all this good theory in practice. I will let you boys know what voltages come from my sensors. thanks again

Re:O2 sensor and MAP sensor voltage questions
One question I have about your setup...
..how are you going to make it possible to get accurate voltage readings through your serial or parallel port? I was under the assumption (yes, I know) that for a pin to become active on either port, a certain voltage would have to obtained for the pin to "activate". Hrm, I could be way off, correct me if I'm wrong. Or, are you going to use an external device (something other than your laptop) to check and manipulate voltages? |
Re:O2 sensor and MAP sensor voltage questions
oh you need to get a Digital to analog converter to convert the signal form the sensor into digital data, then you have to convert from 0v-5v logic to like 5v-14v logic (which is the voltage range for the paralell port). Vice versa for the output.
so basically snesor->Analog to Digital Converter->Voltage converter->Parellel Port->Control Software->Voltage converter->Digital to Analog Converter->ECU/Injectors/etc.. I will probally be using a Programming languagbe called "MATLAB", it is used in Engineering/Finanace alot for Mathematically intensive applications plus it has the ability to easily grab data in real time and output data in real time. If I ever get this thing off the floor I will show you screen shots of the control algorithm, it will have a pictorial representation and you can adust things by just draggin and dropping boxes, just like Microsoft Viso with Block Diagrams. I think I will do this for tunning once I an satisfied I will dump my settings to a microcontroller and have everything wired directly to it. So. Sensor->Microcontroller (it has DACs built in)->ECU/injectors/etc... I will start to fiddle with sensors this weekend once I buy a new volt meter tommorow. Thanks again guys. |
Re:O2 sensor and MAP sensor voltage questions
Yo I just had a crazy Idea, I just picked up some 380cc DSM injectors for cheap (pink top are they any good?). Basically the injectors are a solenoid switch, so I should be able to build and electronic boost controller from it. Better yet I can use my old honda injectors and make an electronic boost controller. I am just wondering if this idea has any reality to it?

Re:O2 sensor and MAP sensor voltage questions
Fuk all of you have gained these knowledge! He he he he....j/k. I just wish I have a clue on how to incorporate all of these jargon in my limitted knowledge in tuning... I will someday. Good tech fellas!!!!!!
