not much mentioned about timing on this site
hey hey
was wondering what do guys not runing standalones do with dizzy/timing and advancing it etc etc?? thanks eddie |
Re:not much mentioned about timing on this site
with a good fuel/engine management system, you don't do anything with dizzy timing, you tune ign. timing via the system that you're running and leave timing at the dizzy stock. is this what you're asking ???

Re:not much mentioned about timing on this site
People that dont run a chipped ECU or"standalone" retard the timing at the distro or they use a BTM to retard.

Re:not much mentioned about timing on this site
yeah, addict is right, i'm sorry, i read your question wrong, i thought you asked what the people that 'ARE' running stand alone type systems do with their timing :-[ anyways, yeah, usually just retard a few degrees at the distributor, get some colder plugs, and/or run a btm or similar device that retards timing as it sees positive manifold pressure.
