No more Atmel 29c256 available
I called Digikey today looking for some more chips for this season. We all know the 29C256 has been discontinued. Digikey says the manufacturer has ceased production and they cannot get them anymore. This means the only thing left is what's already in distribution. I would have preferred to order from a Canadian company...

Re:No more Atmel 29c256 available
I found a local place that will sell them for about $3.20 each...120ns however minimum order would be 100qty!
There is a link for the slower 250ns Amtels and tehy still have some although they are a little slow they seem to work for people. As Kevin said the SST 27sf chips are a nice replacement...some burners dont support them though. If you just need one or two of either I have them in stock and could sell them to you for what I think is a fair price. http://www.------------- |

Re:No more Atmel 29c256 available
yeah, all of the more common burners that i know of do support them, along with just about any other 28 pin dip style chips that could be used.
