guys i've searched and found nothing about this so i'm posting this here. what is a missing link. im going to use a fmu with my setup and iknow i need missing link to solve the MAP sensor problem. what is this thing, how does it work, where can i find it ???

It prevents the MAP sensor from seeing boost which will result in a check engine light.

uh yes i know that but how does it do this is it dealing with the map sensor voltage which should be 3 volts max as i know or anythingelse

Uh, you asked what it is and how it works.

It has nothing to do with the voltage. It bolts between the MAP sensor and the throttle body and prevents the MAP from seeing positive pressure. Would you like me to go into a detailed history discussion about the evolution of the Synapse missing link and how it revolutionized the forced induction industry in the late 90's?

FYI, an FMU and a missing link/check valves is the cheapest way to run boost on a MAP sensor equipped vehicle. Effective, but cheap and it leaves no room for tuning. Most of the time you're running pig rich at WOT and you are limited to around 8psi, safely. For the cost of an FMU and a missing link you could have your ECU chipped and be running TurboEdit/Uberdata with 450cc injectors. This will result in improved performance and unlimited tunability, which in the end is much better for your motor.

I'm sure you have already made your decision on going with the FMU and missing link so I won;t waste our time explaining this any further.

I enrolled in "the doc boost plan" a while back and 75 an hour may seem steep but it is well worth it.

I learned so much about turbos and everything related. An added bonus is that i lost nearly 130 pounds with this pprogram because i simply didnt have any money left for food.
