new to forcedinduction

I need help with my fuel management? I have an 89 crx si and ive turbocharged it and the motor is built for power so i dont want to mess things up. right now i have fmu and 450 inj but thats not good enough i dont want to drive the car with that set up. what can i use that is plug and play for obdo? their is no one around where i live that can tune it for me and driving a long distance to have it done is out of the question. need help

Re: new to forcedinduction

the best option is chip the ecu and one of the couple obd0 tuning programs or convert to obd1 and use uberdata or crome. i really dont recommend anything else unles ou want to spend the money on a stand alone system.

now post some porn. im sure you have been around here long enough to see thats a requirement.

oh yea, post some pics of the crx and setup

Re: new to forcedinduction

you need a 90 or 91 pm6 ecu and put a chip in it with a base map, then have it tuned

Re: new to forcedinduction

where do you live I'm sure theirs some HMT knuckle head with a chip burner and an lc-1 that could help you out with it.

Re: new to forcedinduction

Start->accessories->Paint

Open your picture up in Paint, then go to

Image->Stretch/Skew and type in a number less than 100 to shrink it.

by the way the car will not start. its getting fuel and fire and it rotates. could it be the timing? ive had block work done and the timing belt was off one tooth maybe two but ive put an adj cam gear to make up for that how much should i retard the cam gear. im lost and need help

Re: new to forcedinduction

Motor needs fuel, spark and compression to fire...and of course proper timing.

Check my site for ECU stuff...

Re: new to forcedinduction

you said it has 450's? Stock ECU? If so then the 450's are probably flooding the motor. Do the spark plugs look wet after trying to crank?

he said he's using an fmu and 450's on a stock ecu. It goes without saying it's dumping some fuel.

Re: new to forcedinduction

Correct me if im wrong but in order for the ecu to b able to control those 440's he needs some kind of tune....

bpr00civicsi 08-16-2007 03:20 PM

Re: new to forcedinduction

that is exactly what is happening, the plugs are soaked and fuel puddled on top of pistons. but after that i put the stock inje back in and the same thing happend. what now?

bpr00civicsi 08-16-2007 03:22 PM

Re: new to forcedinduction

i dont have the funds to change over to obd1 right now so obdo is what i have to work with right now. I just want the damb thing to start so i can enjoy this car not just sit and stare at it everyday.

Re: new to forcedinduction

So, you're now running stock injectors and an FMU? And it's still flooding? What is your fuel pressure at?

bpr00civicsi 08-17-2007 02:22 AM

Re: new to forcedinduction

no fuel press gauge yet. the fmu has 12:1 disc should it be smaller like 8:1

look man you need to learn to tune your ecu. Your cars obd0 so use bre or turbo edit.
if your learn to do that or have someone help you you can have the car running perfectly.

running the fmu and larger injectors is just going to flood your engine and even with stock sized injectors and the fmu working perfectly your timing will be way off. And that will blow your engine very quickly. do some research learn to do it right and ejoy having a turbo honda..

This moring on my way to work I walked a 350z in my 92 accord. I came from knowing nothing about three years ago to being able to piece kits together and tune for myself. I'm of average intelligence at best so you should be able to make it happen.

Re: new to forcedinduction

how well does turboedit work and how does it work. do you need lap top and dyno. Im not very computer literate

Re: new to forcedinduction

The level of cluelessness leads me to believe you're only going to do this right one way, talk to xenocron, tell him what he wants to know, and pay what it costs to get the ecu you need. It isn't gonna be that much, compared to you trying to take a crash course in ecu tuning. Enserio (spanish for- I'm not ------ around) :8

Re: new to forcedinduction

You're setup looks nice and clean, hopefully you're manifold holds up but i'm sure you already know about that. you're setup and engine bay looks real clean.

did you check for spark? did you put that msd on since its run last? If it ran before you put the kit on it has to be something easy and simple.

bpr00civicsi 08-23-2007 09:45 AM

Re: new to forcedinduction

The car has never ran since i got it. the motor was trash hell the head wasnt even bolted down when i got the car. I pulled motor and rebuilt it. its getting fire and fuel, its getting to much fuel to start. so im checking into chipped ecu and turboedit.

check this out! has anyone else kept their washer fluid bottle.

Re: new to forcedinduction

i cut a 2 inch section out of the center of the bottle and plastic welded it back to gether.

Re: new to forcedinduction

Do you sometimes get in your car and squirt the wipers while making engine noises?

bpr00civicsi 08-25-2007 01:19 AM

Re: new to forcedinduction

sometimes lol

Re: new to forcedinduction

so after i purchase chipped ecu with base map how easy is it to tune with turbo edit and what tools do i need to do so.
can the car be driven without tune and what are limitations.

ifly87 09-17-2007 08:22 AM

Re: new to forcedinduction

dude just chip ur own ecu it will cost u like $15-$20, turboedit or bre is free, spend the money on a wideband jesus christ its not rocket science you just need to real a little bit.
