need tuning help with holset hy35 and ls vtec motor. *pics of map inside

hey guys, old turbocoupe garrett T3 60 trim is gone and running the HY35 holset.

the maps below show the tune we were running on the old set up at 10psi with the stock map sensor and it ran flawlessly. a safe amount of power. We left the timing relatively conservative.

With the new turbo, im still running the stock map sensor and im getting major creep with my tial gate. Looks like i definately need a 2bar map sensor and maybe larger injectors? It was my knowledge that the 440cc injectors were able to hold 300-350 whp, but the my fuel map is showing duty cycle of the injectors as +100%. Fuel correction is set only to 115. i havent played with that.

Joesph, lookin at you man. You got extensive knowledge with the holset and i could really use your insight.

at 4400 rpm car is hitting 12.9 AFR and it keeps going leaner from there. We shut the car down at 5800rpm and we were at 14.8AFR

so i guess my question:

1) how do i fix my creep issue (tial 38mm with 10lb spring)
2) major help with my tune.

are you running a boost controller of any sort? what kind of manifold do you have? as far as tuning, ummm, if you have a wideband and are able to get your afr's, just add more fuel until they're within reason, it's not rocket science. most duty cycle calculations are wrong, 440's will easily support 300whp, but you'll be running a pretty high duty cycle after that, not maxed out, but higher than i like to go. people say not to go over 75% duty cycle, but i usually don't bump the fuel pressure up until i see about 85%

ya i can get a wideband, that isnt a big deal. Dont have a boost controller as of yet. Can and will get one if need be. Manifold design is a goofy one. Can post up a pic if needed.

I guess my biggest concern was the duty cycle percentage being shown on turboedit. I had the car running on the old setup at 45psi. Last night when i had it on the dyno, we bumped it to 52, but it did dick all to correct my problem so i turned it back down until could figure out the fuel issue.

should i play with the fuel correction fuct or leave it alone?

thx for the help guys.

and yes once i can clarify some things, tuning is as easy ------- the dog

Question...have your N/A AFRs moved at all?

Duty cycle in my opinion was pretty close in TE (JParker is ---- about ---- like that). Bumping up the fuel pressure to 55-60psi should help that (and ease your mind) and then all you need to do is a pretty simple calculation in Excel to your fuel maps to adjust for the change in fuel pressure. (I think this was supposed to be a function in TE, but I'm not sure it works).

NA areas should be pretty close after recalculating, maybe some minor tweaking. And then just focus on the boost areas.

Are you using the Boost Eff Fuel Correction in the newest version of TE with the newest NG60 code? My experience tells me 115% is WAY too lean...if thats the case.

chris,

still using the NG55 code.

i can switch to NG60 and redo the map.

I would...and then you can use ECU control for datalogging as well. To actually see where you are in the maps and make the appropriate changes.

The other issue i seem to be having is, when i input that i want to a 3 bar or even a 2.5 bar map sensor, the last few cells are defaulting to 1.xx values.
Cant figure out that one?
