Default Need Some Help with Engine management

Im goin to be running a 8psi custom setup before i get to the install i need to know what i should use. my questions are.

Should i just use FMU or...

should i chip my ecu. i also need a little more insight on chipped ecus. let me get this straight. to chip it i would have to buy the chips, and a chip programmer, and have the romburning software on my comp to make maps right?

is there any other ways?

Yes, you need a chip burner ($85) and some chips and then download uberdata or crome which are free and you can start chipping. If you've never done it before you should go read the tutorial at pgmfi.org and go to the uberdata forums and learn how to make a basemap.

Dude, you got a lot of reading to do. 250cc of pgmfi.org, stat!
Also, if you plan on tuning, you'll need a wideband o2 sensor as well as a laptop to datalog. Then you'll need a means of datalogging, unless you run crome pro or uberdata. crome may be a bit more user friendly.
To answer your original question, timing can be adjusted in the tuning software. Now go read!!
