Need some advice
 

Ok so i just read the FAQ and I have been thinking about chiping my ecu. I'm not turboed yet but getting closer and closer. I currently have some DSM 390cc injectors and a FMU, I was considering AFC but after looking into I'd rather just chip. I dl turbo edit and well it is all latin to me. I have 91 crx si with a d16a6 and pm6 ecu so i am obd0. I would really like to learn how to use the program learn about datalogging. I still need to get an a/f guauge but was thinking about getting a PLX wideband 02 and the guage to go with, is it something I should look into. I just need some good links to help me get started. If anyone is in the philly area and could help that would be great I'm more of a hands on person and if I see how something is done I understand it better, ok well thanks for any adivce you guys give and sorry for the newb post but I didn't know where to go.

But seriously, don't get the A/F gauge, especially if you are getting a PLX with a gauge.

The PLX isn't "needed" to run turboedit, it would be nice to be able to datalog and then you could tune your own car, but it is not needed for the start.

I would say definitley go turbo edit and you can tune it yourself with the wideband. You won't need a narrowband gauge, the wideband is much more accurate. www.pgmfi.org has some good stuff in the forum for turboedit. You learn by reading then doing.

I'm gonna read up on pgmfi.org see if I can start understanding some of this ish...

So no a/f guage just get a wideband but that is only for dataloging. What else would i need to do so...I am gonna read up so I might figure this out on my own in a little bit, thanks...Matt

OK, so i just spent a couple hours reading pgmfi.org and xenocron's website...I think I am starting to understand how to use turbo edit a little more. I assume the fuel and igniton tables correspond to graphs and said curves. So the whole idea about adjusting them is to keep a smooth curve? So if I adjust one point I need to compensate for the ones around it? Does that sound right, it is really a dumbed down explination but I think i get it. I would use a wideband o2 and EGT to do help adjust my A/F ratio and try to keep it between 13 and 15.5 or so. Ok, well I think I will be caling on xencron to help me do my first few chips...I'm about 2 hours away from that zip you listed, I could use a good road trip...I'll bring the beer

Sounds good...I've got a friend down there running TE that needs a retune sometime this spring so I may be down in that area.

I think I would like to setup another dyno day at Boosted-Hybrid's shop when it warms up again.
