need help ecu will not work
 

Thanks in advance for any help.... so anyways

I have a p28 ecu that i can't verify that worked before but i have in chipped and socketd to run a turbo set and it does not work..... When you put in the ecu the car will start but run really, really rich... like smoking out the tail pipe and showing you all my little leaks in the exhaust... The car will also sound like it is running on 2 or 3 cylinders ( but it is firing on all fours).. after about a minute or so the car will get to the point were it will die and not start bucause the spark plugs aare covered in black stuff and washed out... I know for a fact that it is the ecu because i put my friends in and the car runs great...

my question is ...
1. has anybody heard of this happening and is there a way to fix it??
2. any idea what it is??? could it be from the chipping???

3. and also if i cut that little piece of wire next to the socket inside and ran the ecu would that make it go back to stock????? even if it was chipped incorrectly

well maybe i'm not the most mechanicaly inclined person but i can't get it to throw a code and the cel is on... there is a blue plug with two wires coming to it and i'm supposed to connect the two and turn the car to the on position and it will flash.. right

thats kinda scary you're turboing your car and dont know how to pull the cel code. jump the ----.

If you have a friend that has roughly the same setup you can try your computer in their car. See if it does the same ----. Could just be a bad burn or basemap.

I'm not totaly retarded I just don't have a lot of experience with the tuning process and ecu's..... but any ways I put my ecu in my friends car with his working map and it did the same thing so i am a 100% sure that it is the ecu... I was just wondering if there is a a way to fix it or at least diagnose if it is because of a bad chipping job.. thanks again for any help

if its running really shitty you may have a basemap thats not right for your particualr set-up rety with a diff basemap.. and yes jump the little blue connector with a piece of speaker wire ans count the flashing CEL and tell us how many flashes there were.. if it doesnt flash at all you have a fried p28 and go buy another one

ya it does not flash at all

I also tryed putting this ecu in a friends car with his chip and it did the same thing... and then i put his ecu in my car with my chip and my car ran great so i am sure that it is the ecu it self... do you know if it makes the ecu go back to stock if you cut the jumper wire next to the zif socket??? i was thinking if the ecu runs stock than maybe it was a bad chipping job thanks
