Need ecu chipped
 

Is there anyone on this board that can socket my ecu? How much will it cost me? Please list up prices with Shipping. I am in Las Vegas, Nevada.

I have a 89 civic hatchback with a dohc ZC motor non v-tech. I am running a 91 crx si ecu. I just got finished installing my turbo kit and dsm 450 injectors, but need fuel management.

If someone can socket my ecu and burn me a boost chip for dsm 450 injectors and 10psi boost on a ZC that would be great. Please let me know if you can do this and costs.

Buy yourself an e(e)prommer from www.batronix.com and download turbo edit or ghettodyne and do it that way, it will be a lot easier and faster

I am going to purchase the burner and download turboedit, but I am not comfortable in socketing my ecu by myself. I have soldered a bit in the past, but removing the chip and soldering the zif socket is a task I am not up for. I was hoping someone on this board could do the socketing for me. If they also could burn a chip when they do the socketing that would be a plus, but really I am in need of someone to do the socketing for me. I cant believe that everyone on this board did their own socketing. Anyone?

Com'on this is homemadeturbo.com....why dont you guys suggest he do it himself and give him links to how to do it. A zif costs what? $7 and a few resistors....just do it yourself. www.wiki.pgmfi.org.

he already said he was getting himself a ROM burner and some chips. I'm happy with that.

He already said he was uncomfortable socketing it himself. I torched about half the first couple ECUs I did, so I can understand his worry.

I offered more for price-fixing/lowering purposes. I don't really have the time or inclination to do it - I'd much rather he do it himself. But more than him do it himself, I'd rather he not pay $100 for it because there are many people other than myself who will do it for $75 or less.

I chip OBD0 for $30...

1 ZIF, 1 ATMEL 29C256 w/ progam of your choice (e-mail me the bin you want burned, I will not "tune" for you), and shipped back..

HOWEVER, here is the catch: I got my wallet stolen this weekend, and it'll be a week or two until I get new credit cards to order parts.

If you would like it done now, I strongly suggest Dave (blundar) do it.. or if you can wait like two weeks, I'll do it for you.

thank you everyone that responded. Again I know this is homemadeturbo. I have a complete homemade turbo on my car all pieced together. I do normally do all of my own work and i am pretty good with electronics. I just think that ecus are critical and I am not sure I can solder that well yet. Also I dont have a desoldering gun. Therefor I was only inquiring if anyone could help me out. Also I would like to get my car running asap so I thought I may be able to get someone to chip the ecu for me and send me a burned boost chip so I can at least try my car out. I am going to get the eprom burner and download the programs to burn my own maps, but again that will take some time and I want to drive my car. I may just take a stab at socketing my ecu by myself, but can someone maybe send me a programed eprom at least until I can burn my own? That would help out alot.

One quick question, I read alot on the socketing and above someone said that I have to put the socket and some resistors/jumpers. My understanding is that I only have to put the socket on my 91 si pm6 ecu. I think you only have to use the jumper and resistors on the 92-95 ecus?? Am I right that I only need the socket and nothing else to chip my ecu.

That really sucks, my wallet was stolen on Wednesday new years eve at the mall. I had to go to the dmv and wait for like an hour to get a license so I could go out. I am now waiting on a new credit card and bank card. SO I know exactly how you feel.

You said to email you the bin that I want, dont you already have the bins? Just wondering, I see your sig and in reading all your posts I got the impression that you were one of the editors of turboedit. Could you or someone else tell me what base bin would be best for my setup?
