N E 1 know if you can rechip a Dodge Dakota R/T?
Its not mine I swear! lol
Anyways, a friend of mine has an '02 Dodge Dakota R/T 5.9 and is wondering if he can rechip it. I've got a burner and can do all the soldering. I just havent been able to find any DIY software or ANY info for that matter. I've found a $400 plug in device that has 3 Pre-Programed "rechips" on it but that is all.
I guess i'm spoiled with all the goodies for Hondas... lol

There are a few companies out there that reverse engineer the computers from domestics.
Some have like you said, pre-set changes, that way ppl can't ---- em up to easy.
Others have just things that you can change at will. Boost, speed limiter, tire size, gear shifts, things like that.
You can create speed, but you have to have a clue as to what you are doing, but they make it so easy that you don't have to. Good call by them huh.
But yeah, there isn't much in teh way of free software out there.
