Is it my Main Relay?

the car sat still for 3 months in the south texas weather before i did a head swap. as soon as i completed the swap( and MPFI swap at same time)the car kicked over in an instant and i drove it for a week with no problems whatsoever. then when i was going to take a friend home the car didn't want to start for ---- till i let it sit for half an hour, two days later i changed the water pump and after i was finished the car refused to start until i used a whole new can of ether to get it started. it idled like complete crap so i turned it off an haven't touched it for a month. now when i crank the car there is no fuel cuz i took of the mani to see if i was getting any and the ports were dry WTF

i checked my MPFI wiring and i think its good but the injectors dont spray and one leeks a little so i believe there is pressure. I get three rapid fire clicks when i get to the on position a pause then another click, one clik when i crank and one when i stop, could the weather craked the relay or what? buying new one tommorow!

If you can hear the fuel pump priming, most of the time its not the main relay. If you can't hear it priming, don't buy a new one, just open it up and hit the joints with a soldering iron.

Re: Is it my Main Relay?

but can the relay cause my injectors not to open when cranking, i opened it and the joints look solid and i don't mind buying one from the auto parts store if its the prob. is there anything like a fuse or something that stops the injectors?

Simple like cyberman said, listen for the fuel pump priming, if its not priming theres no way you're injectors will inject fuel, even if they are working. I picked up a main relay fom a boneyard for $5

Re: Is it my Main Relay?

Yeah...If I were gonna replace one, def get one from the junkyard...They are like 30 or 40 bucks at the autoparts store. Junkyard will be close to free.

What happens is the solder joints crack over time, so most of the time u can just go over the solder joints with a soldering iron and it will be fine. First thing you wanna check though is whether or not the pump is priming
