My D16Y8 setup + Intoduction
Hello...My name is Brian from San Diego I am posting here because all of the members on "ByTheBookHonda.com" can't seem to give any sort of feedback, all I here is any fmu sucks get a $100,000 aem or hondata, or go read my copy & pasted sticky . I am turboing my d16y8 in a 94 si hatch @ 7-9psi, and for my engine management I am using a fully adjustable boost referenced fmu/fpr made by Synapse alond with MSD boost timing controller . I will be using RC 370cc injectors and a Walbro 190lph fuel pump. I have a missing link with the spring check valve . I put all this together knowing nothing about Honda's and the only thing I would like to change would be a direct replacement map sensor that can read boost.....does this sound like a good reliable setup/with decent milage(370cc&190lph) in lieu of 440cc & 255lph

Re: My D16Y8 setup + Intoduction
your map sensor can read boost up to 14.7psi, its your stock ecu that cant.
You need to ditch that FMU and chip your ecu. |

To the OP with the setup your using has some decent stuff and some things you don't need. If your running a y8 with a stock obd1 ecu your already in some trouble timing is way off and y8's need some attention on boosted setups they seem to be detonation prone mine took a little work to tune the timing and get everything running smooth. Then your planning on running a btm they do nothing to help you retard timing. you have another problem if you change to a non stock map sensor while running just an fmu your car will not run. Youve put effort into this and your almost whewre you need to be. read this 50 times http://mycomputerninja.com/~jon/www....UChipping.html then look up crome. http://forum.pgmfi.org/viewforum.php...0d93c1ab417d46 you'll need to buy a wideband o2 and a chipping kit but you have enough useless stuff to sell that you probably won't have to put any more money into tuning your car. You need to ditch that FMU and chip your ecu. 11.5 psi for newer sensors.. |
