Mustang 5.0 managment

I know you all love hondas around here, and the question i am going to ask has been asked before but all the links are dead, so here i go.

So we just finished a lovely single turbo GT mustang fox body. My question is what kind of managment is available, and how hard is it to tune MAF? google and the search here has lead me to paul booth's software but every link i have found is dead. Does anyone know whee i can still get it from, and also links on tuning mas air would be helpful too. What kind of hardware do i need to e able to chip or program ECC? What I have now is everything I use to tune mine and my friends ECUs, like the 5 gas analiser(sp?), EGT probe, willem burner, a bunch of sst 27sf512 chips, and a laptop

any help wiuld be nice, or at least a shove in the right direction

nice get a maf for the 42 and a 255 and a adujuctable regulater

Re: Mustang 5.0 managment

we have the maf for the 42 lb injectors, just the cold side wasnt done in that pic. I know he upgraded the fuel pump a while back but i dont know how big, and finally the FPR isnt adjustable bur it is running a higher than stock pressure....I will find out the exact number later today

Re: Mustang 5.0 managment

OK the fpr sits at 42 psi, as for the mustang we got it on the dyno and hooked it up to the wideband, and at idle its hitting 8.9 AFR and when your on it, its pegged at 12.6 AFR with no tuning at all. As we were going for te power run one of the coolant hoses burst so we are fixing that now, and will have it back on the dyno tomorrow.

get a regulater on the fuel so u can get a beter air fuel mix

Re: Mustang 5.0 managment

The holley FPR came in today its on, and the car pegged the dyno here at school today :) it is an old 200HP max dyno but it smacked the needle. We got the afr set nicely using the rollers and the 5 gas sniffer, and turning the MAF. I know its kinda Ghetto, but it works until i can get the megasquirt put togeather for him.

maf and injectors isnt really ghetto.

i lkike the setup im going to convert from twins to a single soon.

burst a coolant hose? id check the oil or do a compression check :P

the stock headbolts are garbage

Central Missouri State University.

How does turning the maf help?? I mean I know it did help, but i dont understand why

the coolant hose busted beacuse we were taking it on and off during the build and it got weak so it spruung a leak. The turbo is only oil cooled and I cant talk my friend into getting an oil cooler. We had to relocate the filter already so the turbomaniflod would fit and he wont get some extra hose and a small cooler. And the head studs are arp beacuse a while back when he kept pukeing head gaskets the arp studs fixed it

the maf read the air and the in the middle the air is cooler so i read more air then up high

hmmm...but isnt the air heated by the turbo, the MAF is after the turbo on our setup. Does it really change that much from the top to the bottom of the charge pipe?

on the cool side of the intercooler and i need a lest a foot of straight pipe before it

Re: Mustang 5.0 managment

Which maf is it? I have a setup that is similar to what link described. At idle it is like 15.7 or something. As soon as you are on it, it drops to 12 and hits a bit below at peak torque.
Set your fp at 38 psi vacuum off.
Your maf must be calibrated for your injectors if you do not use a chip. Even if you have a lightning maf (which used 42s-the stock calibration for that is in the ecu).
My pro M 75 mm NA calibration was set up well from Pro M. Worked without adjustment. I would also suggest a different dyno. You are going to break those rollers on a 200 hp one! Seriously, how accurate could that be for a turbo 5.0?

Re: Mustang 5.0 managment

we have the FPR set at 40 for now, we will tune it down later, and we are still hitting 12.5s on the AFR but only like 9 something at idle, we cant see to adjust the idle mixture no matter how hard we try. but the second it sees any kind of throttle it jumps up. The maf is for the 42 LBS injectors. As for the dynos its a break dyno so it only reads when breaking, we are mainly using it for the rollers and the wideband output. we arent making any power runs, we just did that one for fun to see what it would do. Its driving around and haveing some idle problems, but other than that its fine.
