msd question
 
ok my problem is that sometimes when i put the msd with internal coil sometimes it wont rev past 3k why is that
thats my question??
can somebody help me out

Your not supposed to use the stock coil with an msd ignition box

lies. there is no difference in what coil you use.

the manual itself TELLS you that OEM equipped coils are a-okay to use. i'm using the oem right now..


also, if you aren't revving past 3... msd supplies rev limiter chips in 3, 6, 7, and 8krpm. i'm betting you didn't cut the right wires for 4cyl (under the black button thing), cut both red and blue. otherwise, you're gonna run weird. read the manual online, it's not an msd issue. just get rid of the rev limiter chip and re-try..

Well sorry about that. I guess you can use a stock coil with an msd box..

I know you can't with my crane ignition though.

yeah, cranes are more specific, but msd will read anything that has a 400+ ohm output from the whatever you're running, even points and condenser from the older vehicles.
