More Fuel Please

Alright here we go. I have a S-10 with the 2.2 liter engine and is running 7 psi so far just fine. Now ive ordered the pistons, rods, rings, crank, and headgasket to take some power rated 400. Now i know you need to retard ignition that fine I have the 6albtm system and works great. Now if I were to add bigger injectors how would i control them. I get good gas milage now and Im only gonna run 20 psi at track and I dont need huge amounts of fuel all the time is there a way it will tell the injectors to run at higher intervals when Im pushin the need for it? WIll the stock injectors work for 20 psi with a boost sensing fuel press reg? Anyway gimme some help this soon to be 300hp beast of a 4 banger will be fun to run light light next to some small blocks.

Wow, interesting setup... The only real way you will be able to run 20psi safely (with OK fuel managment) will be a standlone system or some type of trick injector controller setup.

I dont know how much your stock injectors can support, but I'm suprised they are doing so well right now..

You can run this little controller with up to 4 additional injectors on your upper Ic pipe, or intake plenum.

For standalone.. you could use Speedpro/TecII/Accel DFI/Motech/Haltech etc.. but thats big bucks, and not exactly a piece of cake to install.

Some members on here talk about megasquirt, I dont know much about it, try a search.

Good luck,
Jeff

Yeah, I've actually read up about the SDS EIC and it seems pretty cool, you seem like you're putting some bucks into this truck, so 500 for a nice controller and injectors prolly won't be that bad!

I wanna see pics of this engine, it sounds fatty!

Gotta get it up. I dont have a dig camera yet but soon i will own one. The 2.2 is a strong engine if I can get enough gas into it. 500 for a few injecotrs is cool I just wonder are the on all the time under certain psi or are they just on? with low boost I dont loose and gas milage so I dont really wanna kill that.

Sounds interesting.. but ya, like Jeff said, a stand alone system would be best. This way, you could modify your fuel maps and adjust your current injector setup to run more fuel.

Also, what's nice (I don't know about S-10s) but on Honda setups, the stand alones use hacked EEPROMs that contain the different fuel maps. With this, you could have a "street" chip, and a "track" chip. tuned for each environment, and use a boost controller of some kind to modify your boost limit for each application. :o
