mini-me in an EF
 
i am going to do a mini me in a 88 civic i have done a dpfi/mpfi swap sucsessfully about 6 months ago using a pr4 and i am ready for the turbo to go on and i just recieved a y8 head i have 2 good 1.5 blocks one for the mini me and one for a spare i want to use the non v-tec block as a test&tune motor but now have 2 choices
OBD0 :rpm switch
turbo edit 1 wire v-tec(v-tec& launch control I have a smc dual)
OBD1: P28 conversion

what are the advantages or disadvantages for the 2 systems

Existing wiring can be used. A chipped OBD0 ROM would be an "all in one" solution, requiring no AFC and no VTEC Controller. Also giving you Launch Control, Datalogging, Map Editing, Rev Limit tweaking, Boost Cut, so on and so forth form the new PGMFI Boost ROM.

Switching to stock P28 would require a new disitributor, wiring harness, and an AFC of some sort. Not to mention you would have no features. No Map editing, no VTEC cross over point editing, so on and fo forth..

I agree with what he says,

Its easier to get an afc hack up and running. you dont need any equipment.
