MegaSquirt

ok so im buying a turbo kit for my ecotec cav, i have been looking into different systems for my EFI management. I can get a really good deal on a new megasquirt system, so my question is has anyone used this system? how did it work. how easy was it to tune? or would you recommend a different system like greddy e-manage or FAST(also a timing system) or something else?

Check out www.vems-group.org
DutchPug uses this system.
It's based on the megasquirt, but it has sequential injection and supports every type of ignition out there that I know of.
It has a lot of features and you decide what feature you add to it. an assembled unit was bout 400+ euro's plus the connectors you'll be at 500 euro's
if you buy it disassembled and choose the parts you want and need on there webstore it's a lot more cheaper.
I just ordered one for a friend of mine.

vems is a ripoff of megasquirt. I'm running Megasquirt on a turbo VW, it's pretty sweet. I'm guessing your ignition is coil on plug, not sure if this is currently supported by Megasquirt. check out the forums : www.msefi.com

Also, feel free to ask me any questions about it.

Finally...some good alternative discussions. I've read a little on Megasquirt, seems to be a good system.

I guess I'm going to have to start doing a lot more reading now :o

Check this out:
http://www.megasquirt.info/index.html

Lotsa general information on fueling, ignition etc. A really good primer for folks looking into engine management.

I'm not saying Megasquirt is the best thing since sliced bread, but for $130 it can do a lot of ----.

Look here under "features" to see what the current software offers: http://megasquirt.sourceforge.net/extra/

^^^ you'll need the complete ECU kit and the stimulator. I think it comes out to $180. But this guy organizes everything really really good so it makes the assembly process easier
