MAP sensor trick on 92-93 integra turbos!!!

I was having problems with my MAP sensor because it was reading boost. Everyone told me to buy the missing link, but I can't use the missing link because my map isn't bolted to my throttle body, it is on the firewall with vacuum hoses hooked up to it. So I had to go to the alternative... I took a vacuum T and took the vacuum source from the throttle body and put it on one end. I connected the MAP sensor vacuum to the nipple that sits perpendicular to the T. And on the other end I put a one-way check valve. The reason I did this was so that the MAP can still read vacuum and when the turbo starts to boost, it bleeds right through the check valve therefore relieving some of the boost that goes to the MAP sensor. It's kinda like using a boost controller, only it's for the MAP sensor. I hope this helps some of you that ran into the same trouble I did. =0)

Joesph Davis already created an electronic "MapHack" device that is cheap, and easily built. The parts, I believe, were available from RadioShack.

Check this out, it might be "more effective" for you..

DAMN IT!!!!!! why does everyone say they cant put the missing link because their's is not in the throttle body and its on the firewall????? ??? ??? i dont know if most people know this but there are actually four different missing links!! there is the regular one that most civics use on top of their TB, then there is the one for the map sensors located on the firewall for cars like the 88-91 civics/tegs/crx's, there is even one for eclipse's, neons, avengers, and now they have a newer one for the i-vtec K20 engines in the new acura's and hondas!! its out there!!! why does everyone say the missing like wont work cuz my map is on firewall?!?!? its starting to bug me now!!! there are missing links for the firewall type map sensors also!! go to www.synapseengineering.com and it will show you all four missing link types!!!

haha...yeah, you're right. But hey, I'm cheap, it only cost me 2 bucks to make it and it works the same.

yeah well, my setup still only cost me 2 bucks... after all, this is homemadeturbo.com isn't it? So mine was home made rather than somebody making it at a machine shop.

Oh yeah, by the way, when I initially put on the checkvalve, my car wouldn't run. I flipped it around the other way and it would idle really rough. That is why I made my own thing. OK comprende? peace out
