MAP sensor reading backwards!!!

my 1995 Mitsubishi Mirage 1.5L acts like it has a rev-limiter/ fuel cut at 4500RPM. i scanned my ECU and a MAP sensor circuit DTC came up. i looked at the sensor data and it read
"calculated load value 100%" w/ KOEO
"Manifold absolute pressure 29.9inHg" w/ KOEO

"calculated load value 29.9%" w/ KOER @idle
"manifold absolute pressure 7.8inHg" w/ KOER @idle

i replaced the MAP it didnt change anything
i wanna know what would make the MAP think its at WOT when it actually at Idle and think its @ idle when its actually at WOT???

this has me stumped the car does this even when it was reverted back to Naturally aspirated!

here is my turbo set up:
T28 turbo internal wastegate 7spi
custom manifold equal length runners
custom down pipe 2.5in
wastegate dump pipe 1.5in vent to atmostphere
custom ported intake manifold
2in intercooler piping
Northstar creations intercooler
275cc galant injectors
Apexi SAFC 1 for fuel control

Re: MAP sensor reading backwards!!!

Is it wired correctly? There should be 3 wires. 5v in, ground, and signal out.

Re: MAP sensor reading backwards!!!

yeah the problem is that the wiring was not touched other than a SAFC splice.

could it be that i raised the boost and the MAP popped internally???

Re: MAP sensor reading backwards!!!

Don't know. Got a meter? Check the output at the sensor, and compare it to the voltage to pressure chart for that sensor. Is there a setting you goofed up? Does the safc inject a signal into the map signal to fool the ecu?

Re: MAP sensor reading backwards!!!

SAFCs use map voltages to mess with fuel tables. You probably have it either A) wired wrong at the SAFC or B) don't have the settings correct in the SAFC

Re: MAP sensor reading backwards!!!

ok i re wired the SAFC and its all correct now the only problem left is that the engine only acts like its hitting rev limiter when i go past 1psi of boost it doesnt matter what RPM im at i cant go past 1psi or it will limit my revs???
