map sensor option with te
i noticed the map sensor option when i was fooling aroudn with TE the other day. lets say i have a stock map sensor and apply the 3bar map sensor option and run that chipo. will my car now be able to boost over 12psi. well will this trick my ecu into thinking that i have a 3bar map sensor when really i avhe a stock one?

Re:map sensor option with te
I think that would really ---- your maps up and nothing would be accurate. I would think the reading your ECU would be trying to interpret would be scaled completey different, therfore not giving the correct fuel/timing adjustments.

Re:map sensor option with te
Yes you will ---- you maps. Look at it this way your stockk MAP sensor is 1.75 bar then you go to 3 bar settings do the math for the percent and that will show you how fucked it would be. ;D

Re:map sensor option with te
This whole 2/3 bar map sensor thing is still really confusing to me as far as the steps needed to set it up. (scaling correctly). Any help/write-ups would be super duper great. :)

Re:map sensor option with te
ok.
a map sensor works by sensing pressure. it uses a diaphragm to do so. your stock map sensor will read x volts at z pressure. a 2/3 bar will read y volts at z pressure. the following voltages, and injector times etc, are just for examples. so you're at 11psi on a stock map sensor... your ecu sees ~4.3 volts, and says "20.2ms fuel" now, if you used that same map sensor, and used a 3 bar map chip, when it sees ~4.3 volts(11psi), it says "44psi... 80ms fuel". similar thing for using a 3 bar map with a stock ecu. rather than reading the ~4.3 volts for 11psi, it will see maybe 1 volt, which would make the ecu think you're still in vacuum, starving the engine of fuel. hope that helps |
Re:map sensor option with te
Warric_k, the info I was referring to/looking for is how to set up the tables in TE and use the 2/3 bar. Changing the headings and the values and such. The basemap writeup seems like it's taking TE to many more users. I think the next step would be the 2/3 bar write-up. (Not just because I'm looking for it. ;D)

Re:map sensor option with te
there should be a plugin soon, but there is a 3 bar map posted on pgmfi, not for ng30 though, i don't think.
