MAP problems

ok, so i have been getting boost cut @ 7-8 psi using ng48. and i know that it isn't TE that's the problem.... i troubleshot it down to the cause.

it is the map sensor!
and i say this because, i went to wal-mart and bought 2 check valves and put them in line to the map. took the car for a drive and "BAM" 13 PSI and no cut, but the car went lean via the air/fuel gauge, no cel, but i got off of it and limped it back home.

no dammage occured hence the lean condition for a few seconds, but what i would like to know is what can i do now to eliminate the boost cut issue due to the MAP, that I and many others (that prolly think that it's TE) are facing.

no, i have not ran a voltage check on my MAP yet.
if you are wondering what my setup is... click on my sig

*** one more thing..... can someone give me some info (part/serial stamp #'s) on the MAP so i can make sure that i'm using the right one..... 88-91 si vs. dx might be different***

thanks,
mike

Re:MAP problems

Send me your BIN and I'll send one back that *hopefully* wont have boost cut.

Re:MAP problems

lol check valves.. ok..

the boost cut is in the code of the BIN itself. so hiding boost from the MAP sensor is just not letting the code (ECU) see any boost so its not getting that problem.

however. ur hurtin your motor. u are actually pushing 13psi in it but tellin the ecu theres 0vac0boost. that = LEAN = BABOOOM! ;) Be careful.
