Map based 8 bit nissan ECU

just thought i'd post this up, since you guys like hack job stuff ;D http://youtube.com/watch?v=CjwiQVcEyEg its not exactly running well yet, but the guy who has dissasembled/modified the stock code has it up and running on his SOHC KA, i think right now im the only DOHC KA person running it, and i had to hack the HELL outta my harness to get it working, that and the ONLY difference is the CAS and base idle is different between engines (ECU base timing should be 15dbtdc, DOHC is 20dbtdc) and with the DOHC CAS, in the video im hitting ~30+dbtdc not only is timing off here but i also have no IAT hooked up, but now im ~13dbtdc for idle (not in the video). anywho, im gonna pick up a moates ostrich to tune this since its a bit cumbersome with my shitty willem... the beta software to tune/datalog this is here http://eccs.hybridka.com/viewtopic.php?t=1517 what do you guys think?

:o :o :o NNIIICEE!!! this gives me hope! now i'm definitely going to imount the BB T28 i got laying around on my S13 DE O0

the s13 was my daily since i didn't want to chip my ecu and have to use that stupid MAF, and i know the T28 will push 320whp all day and the maf will be max out. now is nice to know i got that option and not have to buy a megasquirt or nothing.. you def will be hearing from me...

ones agains ;) nice..

to be honest, the easiest route would be to pick up a P60 (Q45 maf) or see if you can get by with a N60 (which you probably could) and it would be easier to tune a MAF based setup with a Calum realtime board, but if you really want to go map based, all you should need to do is rewire the IAT, and grab a MPX4250 map sensor (cheap on mouser), the BIGGEST part of this sucks cause i dont have a working consult adapter right now, and as mentioned the CAS situation is kinda weird and right now its not even bolted down :o so once it gets a little warmer out, i'm gonna look into maybe swapping CAS disc's from the U12, or working out a software solution with gabe(deviousKA).... (basically, dont consider it a new solution till i'm boosting around town)

consul adapter is for datalogging right??? do you need a daughterboard for this?? you datalog directly with that software?? I have an Lm-1,lm-3 and rpm converter so i guess i won't need that even tho is good to log exactly what the computer see.

you'll still want a consult adapter REGARDLESS of what you use for logging NOW, if you log the ECU variables, you can log load (TP) values, which makes tuning 10x easier than stabbing in the dark at WHERE you want to change your fuel/ignition map... as for running this code on a U12 ecu, the only physical modification to the ECU is that you remove the eprom and solder a (ZIF) socket in, then drop a 27SF512 or emulator lead or whathaveyou in there... also you'll have to remove a single resistor and solder a wire a clean 5v source for the MAP... pretty simple though.
