Look, an easily obtained PCB switch for J1 (ECU chipping)
 

Well I chipped my ECU but wanted a switch in J1 so I could go back to the stock program without having to cut wires and resolder them every time.
My motor is still stock so I can do that. :)

I found this PCB switch at Radio Shack and it almost fits the little holes. :o

In pic 1 you see the switch with one of the legs bent. Thats because I had to bend the leg to get it to go in the other hole on the ECU. This was step 1 in the leg bending.

In pic 2 you see the leg being bent back a little like a hook so it will go in the hole. I opened the switch up to see if I could just remove the middle pin and move it to an empty slot on the switch. I couldnt though because of how the switch actually operates inside, if I moved it when switch it wouldnt make contact.

In pic 3 you see how I mounted it in the ECU. Its at an angle because I wanted to get a little bit more of the bent leg sticking out the otherside of the PCB hole so I could get a good solder spot.

I just tested it and it works fine. :thumbup: :)
Only bad part is that I wanted "On" to face the other way. Oh well, I can live with that. :)

Couldnt you Have just solderd wires into the ecu board instead of the switch? That would be pretty cool since you could get stock MPG.
