Loading p75 code on chipped p28?
I was told it was possible. I'm just checking all my possibilities to see what's cheaper. I have a p28 here, but if I can get a p75 from a 94 or 95 teg then maybe it might work out a bit cheaper.
Will loading p75 code onto a chipped p28 work no problem? Stan |
Re:Loading p75 code on chipped p28?
OK, the idea byhind hybrid ECUs is a simple one.
Rule of thumb, first thing, if you can, run the codebase of the ECU you physically have, with the characteristics (fuel/timing maps, rev limits, VTec crossover if applicable, blah, blah, blah) of the ECU you want. So, run a P28 ROM, with Fuel/Timing maps of a P75. Therefore, you know that the codebase will work because it's a P28, and you'll have enough fuel and spark because your maps are that of the motor you have. |

Oh okay. Sorry for the newbie questions! I learn fast though. I guess I can just copy and paste all the maps (running erm).
How do I make this vtec ecu non-vtec? It's been covered somewhere before. My setup currently is a 2000 civic hatch with a '98 b18b. I made a conversion harness from obd2b to obd2a. When I get the right parts, I'll convert it from obd2a to obd1 to run this p28. It'd be even easier if I could find a used obd1 p75! Stan |
Re:Loading p75 code on chipped p28?
ERM shouold have an option to disable VTec.
If not there are plenty of DIY OBD1 editors. one should have it. Checked out Crome? |

Re:Loading p75 code on chipped p28?
FWIW you can run:
P75 code on a P28 P06 code on a P75 P28 code on a P72 P72 code (minus knock) on a P28 P30 code (minus knock) on a P28 OBD1 code is very interchangeable. |

Thanks guys, you are really knowledgable.
Someone should put together a How-To page for the newbies (like myself) on tuning ignition/fuel maps. Stan |
Re:Loading p75 code on chipped p28?
Okay, Chrome looks like an easy to use program to load the p75 maps onto my p28 ecu control rom for my p28.
Can someone tell me what the code after XXXXX-P28- means? I have a P28-A01 ecu, and the rom I'm going to load on it was from a P28-A02 (now changed over to p75 maps). Does it make a difference? Stan |
