LED check engine light for obd0-1 conversion

Finally getting my 90 gold hatch back together. Car is a drag car only so no gauge cluster. I need to find out what wires I need to tap into in the obd1 conversion so I can actually check codes. Thanks.

I believe it gets power from A13 when a CEL is triggered

Jump D4 to D21 to make the DASH light blink.

Well A13 is the light like the above said...I believe the ECU grounds A13 though when there is a light.

So hook up an LED to a switched power on one side and connect the other side to A13. Then Connect D4 to D21 to get it to blink :)

Might want to try just a normal light bulb first just to make sure it's setup correctly. If you have the polarity wrong on the LED it won't light up, not to mention if it's a 12v output your LED won't last long at all. They usually operate under the 3v range (usually no more than 1.5v on average), so if you really want an LED make sure to stick some resistors in there to drop the voltage.

Good points, I am guessing Chris knows that but others might not so thanks for mentioning :y

No problem ;) At least my electronics background is paying off for once :D

Chris, dont forget...if you position the LED correctly, it can be used as a bright shift light as well ;)
