Default leaning out for 1st min of driving

hi,
I managed to get my car tuned decently with UD 1.70, but the problem i'm now worried about is that when I start out my car and the engine is still hot, for the first min of driving everything's lean (16-19 AFR). After that, everything calms down. Any ideas as to why this happens? Maybe it really should be running cold crank enrichment for a bit but it isnt (this doesnt make too much sense, since engine is still hot)?

I wouldn't enable the Cold enrich or any of the fuel modifiers. The give me problems everytime I use them. I'be broken down before and had raw gas shooting out my exhaust because of them. I'd just stay away from that. How are your AFR's after this short lean area your talking about? Is there anyway you can richen the map up a bit more in that area? I'd add a bit more fuel there and see where your at after it settles down again. The vacuum maps are the toughest to be tuning for, so your going to have some error. It's all fixable in time and tuning though.

thanks for the input.
I dont have fuel modifiers on, j/w if they would fix it, but now two people have said dont use them , so i wont.
the AFRs are great after the first period, so its not REALLY an issue, and i cant imagine that im going to get insane pinging at 16 afr cruise/idle for 1 minute at every startup. moreover, i think closed loop will fix it (opinions?).

i'm just trying to get the map to work on my stock car before i boost, so i have something that's decent to work on when i do boost.

any other ideas about this? although it's no real issue, it still kinda bugs me.

Well thats true. Closed loop may solve the problem allowing you to add a touch more fuel where you need it. And running 16 AFR at idle/ cruise isn't going to harm anything at all. If anything your helping your gas mileage Alot of us tune for the 15's when closed loop is disabled at idle/ cruise for the economy part of owning a turbo vehichle
But it's a tricky situation because your trying to get your 240cc injectors tuned out well in NA form, but as soon as you switch to larger injectors and scale your maps, you'll be retuning all over again more than likely.

right, i realize that, but im also trying to get a hang for it before i start blowing up my internals with boost. also, my stockgsr.bin map was totally messed (ie running 10 afrs all the time) so i think this is pretty appropriate.
