Default laptop set up

ok im finally getting my laptop unlocked this week(person that i got it from forgot password) and it will be gettin an upgrade but i wanted to know hwat types of software you guys have on your laptops. am i going to need lots of space to save bins on. will one tuning program interfear with another? im the type of computer guy that throws the mouse to the cat when something doesnt work right so i dont wanna ---- this new comp up.what are some good firewalls, aint virus all that stuff. basically i wanna know what you guys do to keep you ---- safe. thanks

.bins take up no room. Romeditors don't interfere with each other. Norton Antivirus and spy sweeper are your friend.

you won't need much space for storage if you are just using it for tuning. Make sure you have some way to get online, wireless is best IMO

Wireless is your friend. IT WILL come in handy when you are out tuning and need to check somethign up on teh internet and there is a wireless neighborhood around

Wireless network cards automatically search for the closest signal. Unless whoever's running the network has it passworded, you can just steal signal.

yep. its prety badass. I've had to do it a couple times. It's almost teh same principle as having wireless at your house and taking the laptop outside while you work on your car incase you need to do some googling on something.

Some people password protect their networks, but its usually pretty easy to get a hold of a network.

that is whats up. im going to have to look into the wireless i didnt even think about that one. does any one know if you can upgrade to wireless or do you have to already have the capability from the factory?

if you have to upgrade to it, the only difference is that you will have a card sticking out of your lapto with an antenna possibly. but if your laptop is made with the card, then it isnt visible.
