Knock Sensor

i got the safc II and have a zc in my 92 civic hatch. i was wondering if you rig up a knock sensor for that engine.

Guess I'm not quite sure what your asking :-\ Are you asking if you need to wire one up? or if anyone here has wired one up? What ecu are you using?

Re:Knock Sensor

yes. you have to find a spot for it on the block though.

Re:Knock Sensor

No you dont need one... the zc runs without it. If your converting to certain obd1 ecus then you may want to add a knock sensor.
Search google for write ups on how to add the knock sensor.. i dont have pictures.. so my words might not be enough

Re:Knock Sensor

well, it's a crazy setup. i have a zc engine and am running an obd1 ls ecu. i've been playing around with it for some time. used my original cx ecu then a dx one and now the ls. it's definately the best but the engine still doesn't run as smooth as i think it should. if you guys have any suggestions about that separate topic, let me know. but ya, i was just wondering if i could put a knock sensor in to hook up to the safc to get some idea of how it's doin since i don't feel super comfortable with doing the turbo setup, i got all the crap already.

Re:Knock Sensor

Yes, you should be able to use the knock sensor on the input on the back of the ZC's block. I don't know how the SAFCII works with knock input alone, but if you're using a n ECU with a knock board, just run the wire to the correct pin on the ECU.

Now, if you're *not* using an ECU with a knock board, I would try to run the knock sensor to the input on the SAFCII alone, and see what happends.
