knock sensor

I ask this one before but did not get an answer, I have a p28 ecu chipped for higher rpm, I have extra chip that when I put it in I get a CEL JD explained that its because the chip was burned for a p30 which have knock sensor, my knock is not hook up because the 95 civic does not have wire for it, that is why I use a p28, and sold the p30, know I want to use a knock to prevent another detonation desaster, SO if I ran the required wire from ecu and installed the chip into the p28 will that fix the knock sensor problem. please dont tell me to buy a p30.

Doesnt the ECU require the knock-board hardware Jason?
IE, P28 cant have a knock sensor unless this is present, ragardless of the rom used.

My mistake, I didn't read the post carefully. Too many words, just scanned over it.

Yes. He needs knock hardware to interpret the signal. P28 not having a knock sensor natively, won't run it directly. Leed is 100% correct.
